A few more cheeky additions to my Galactic Empire Army:
Inferno Squad
Been rather busy this week so its taken till now to get the last of these finished and ready for gaming:
Hordak and Shadow Weaver
Superb minis as we have come to expect from Archon's MoTU line and i cant wait to get some games in with them down the club.
Here's the last of my current stockpile of Dweghom painted, a unit of Fireforged:
A second ranged unit for the force, shorter ranged than the Ballistae but more powerful shots hehe. Dweghom can make quite a significant gunline but I'm going with one shooting unit per warband as all the gunz is not my style to be honest.
This gives me 1000pts points painted now, and I'm looking forward to a game on Wednesday with both sides fully done as my City states opponent is also fully painted and raring to go!
Next up for the Dweghom are a unit of Hold Warriors:
The basic unit type for the army, starting off as just a bit tanky but able to be buffed up to something quite filthy haha... I will need another block of these down the line to camp on objectives!
Something a little different today as last night i got to play On Bloody Ground - The Norman Conquest, with my friend Dave Toone, Co-founder of WIP Games and Miniatures.
Dave, along with his son Dan have been working on a modern historical wargames ruleset for the last few years, and now have their first title "The Norman Conquest for preorder and delivery is expected sometime in the next week or so.
They have been posting regular updates on their facebook page with battle reports and rules breakdowns etc, and also their vast swathe of beautifully painted armies!
So here are a few pics of the game, id not seen Dave for a few months so a lot of the evening was spent chatting away haha, but we got through three turns before having to pack up:
Next up for the army is a unit of Hold Ballistae, light missile troops that will be amongst the first units in the army on the board and can engage the enemy from distance:
Really pleased how they turned out, and the next regiment is on the paint station ready to get started with!
Finished off my first actual regiment for my Dweghom army with these mighty Dragonslayers:
My favourite looking and playing unit in the whole range haha, proper tanky and with massive damage output! On with the next one now.
Myself and a couple of guys down the club have decided to start up Conquest Last Argument of Kings by Para Bellum Games, and after watching some bat reps and listening to the fantastic Vanguard Garage Gaming podcast I've gone with The Dweghom as my faction.
I picked up a couple of boxes of troops and found some great slapchop paint guides on Youtube that were quick and easy to follow! I tried them out on a couple of characters first and here are the results:
Hold Raegh
Characters in this game join units but stay on their own trays.. you can add a few additional models to represent upgrades you give them but I've decided not to go down that route and mount them on a cavalry base and greenstuff to fill the gaps around the base.
Regular infantry form up four to a tray, with cavalry and monsters and monstrous infantry doing one per tray.
Finished up a couple of the Speeder Bikes for my Empire, I have a game on tomorrow and want to try out the Imperial Officer rather than Moff Gideon, but that means adding something else to the force as he's about 80pts more expensive hehe:
Again close enough to the existing scheme and im happy with them!
Last of the centerpiece model's completed today:
