Twilight: Belen!

Nights and a stupid long day job have really been killing the painting this week but the Belen is finally complete, thus my mobile supply depot for the Kedashi Swarm is ready to rock!

In more Twilight news the current kickstarter is going great guns and is over 4500 pounds funded so far. We have unlocked a number of wicked stretch goals including these beauties:

The Onsegar Rider in particular is a work of genius by Mike, who doesn't want a Bird-lion in their life!!!!!

Twilight: Casanii of Anyaral

Twilight Miniatures kickstarter for the Casanii goes live at 8pm GMT tonight and im very much looking forward to it. Backers of the previous ks got to see the preview page and here is some of the goodies awaiting us:

The Ferals are the Casanii kiddies left to fend for themselves haha, i will be adding that to my planned Trader Pledge yeah.

I have also been painting some of my existing models and here are a pair of Trebarnii Bosses for my Kedashi swarm force:

Twilight: Commanding the Swarm

With these i have completed the Frenu part of my Kedashi Swarm:

Kopa (Leaders)

Small Swarms (Command node type things!)

I still have a few more models to paint for this faction before cracking on with my other starter forces hehe.

Twilight: Rise of the Frenu

I've completed the basic Frenu for my Kedashi Swarm army today:

These are the basic troops in my force, cheap and expendable to say the least! They can be ordered to swarm so to speak and create swarm markers that are more powerful and allow me to command my forces over a larger area of the board. They can also be used to sacrifice for the larger Kopas (Soon!) and allow them to regenerate stamina hehe.

I really enjoyed painting these and the sculpts are very characterful, even the wife likes them... doesnt happen very often!

Twilight: The Casanii are coming!!

Yep on the 16th of March Twilight Miniatures are launching a new kickstarter campaign to fund a full faction of the awesome Casanii models to the game.

Up till now the Casanii have only been represented by the above single scout model but many more are on the way, including this fine chap previewed on the facebook page yesterday, painted by the excellent Joe Karame:

More previews are promised over the next two weeks, and i will be supporting the campaign as i did last time around, this time with regular painting updates of my existing forces yeah!

Twilight: Kickstarter goodies have arrived!

A pleasant surprise greeted me this morning as a big brown box from Twilight Miniatures arrived in the post yeah boi!

 

 

First out of the box was the starter kit which has the resin activation stones and the metal combat stones which replace dice for the most part in the game:

Plutons Mechanicals, one of my two starter forces of around 250pts in the game, plenty to get me and Jacob into battling around Anyaral. The Mechanicals are a Delgon force, a northern branch of Fubarni that split from the Empire many years previous and now are waging war against them!

 

 

 

 

 

The second of my starter forces are the Dhogu Raiders, a more primitive Fubarni culture who often serve as mercenaries to the Delgon. I really like these models, especially the Warlord who rides a yeti/goat monster haha

Next up are some of the bonus items I acquired through my pledge level, a resin Gil Marshall, Baby Gil and Engineer Beru, all special characters that can be used in the game.

One of the stretch goals was a full map that Mike had wanted to create for a long time. Its hand drawn and very detailed! This will look great framed and on the wall of my games room :-D

 

 

 

 

 

Chronicles of Anyaral is the compilation of the two earlier books and the one funded by the Kickstarter. A few months ago Mike sent me a draft copy for some QA and I have to say its a fantastic read, even more so now I have it in book form rather than on my tablet. 

Another stretch goal was to create stat cards for all the models in the game, very handy for speeding up play as it saves thumbing through the rulebook. The pack includes some blank ones which will come in very handy for the next photo...

Frenu!!!! An alpha playtest fourth culture for the game I have signed up for do some testing on. This is the rules for them as the models are still being created but I cant wait to get cracking on them.

 

 

 

 

 

An awesome box of toys to get me started playing Twilight and im looking forward to building and painting up my forces in the near future

 



World of Twilight: last 2 days!

The World of Twilight kickstarter campaign is entering the last two days and is closing in on the £15,000 stretch goal:

 

 

 

 

One of the recent goals passed was a postcard to be included with our rulebook pledges, and Mike posted up the art for it... its beautiful! Im tempted to convert it to a canvas print for my games room!

 

 

 

 

 

The other important development is Mike's decision to release a playtest force for the Frenu, the fourth culture in the world of Anyarl! I have pledged for a set of these to take part in the playtesting and help shape a new force for the game:

The Frenu Kopa is yet to be sculpted but the rest of the range shows a lot of promise. Im looking forward to getting these along with the Delgon force for some small games with Jacob :-D







Spotlight: Twilight Miniatures

Twilight Miniatures is running a very successful Kickstarter Campaign, stretched goals are smashed and a lot of greater starter forces have been created from it!

Mike Thorp, the creator of Twilight, sent me this little chap to paint up and review:

 

 

He is a NuraKira Priest from the Delgon faction in the game, a Northern offshoot of the Fubarnii.

 

 

Its a one piece model, no clean up or mould lines to sort out which was great. The whole range is full of character, a totally unique world created by Mike and his playtesters!

 

 

 

Im really looking forward to getting some more of these badboys :-D
