The club is starting up a Mordheim campaign in the new year and i wanted to use Undead.. In our last one maybe 15 years ago i also ran them and they are a lot of fun!
I picked up a box of the AoS / Warcry Royal Beastflayers from the Flesheater Courts range as i like the models and may have also bought a box or two of the new army box haha

Todays painting has involved finishing the current selection of character models i have before starting to tackle the troops!

Like many others I've gone for the Greywater Fastness scheme for the contrast between the yellow and the blue/grey, and its relative ease of painting haha.
Hopefully i can get some time this week to start building the Steelhelms as i'm away the weekend at the LGT so will be all hands of deck doing housework on monday!
The new Cities launch box was enough to get me back into AoS haha, almost 2yrs since i last played! and whilst i waited for the box to be delivered i browsed the models for other newer aesthetic stand ins for the older WFB kits and found these two:
A mistake but a funny one, i was working out how big my army was with the new points changes and i thought i was 120 short of a 2000pt list... so i went and bought The Masque because i thought she was 120pts... Worked it out again and i was already at 2000 and The Masque was 135 anyway haha what a tool!
Lives and learns haha, check your maths before you buy stuff!!!
Got back from the family holiday and smashed straight on with these:
With the change to 3rd ed the debate between Painbringers and Twinsouls has opened up again and ive settled on Twinsouls being better as their damage output is significantly higher!
One final addition to my Nurgle forces with one of the Maggoth lords:
Time for some actual staying power in my Slaanesh army with a unit of three Varanguard!
The lure of those awesome new stormbro sculpts in the Thunderstrike armour has been too strong to resist haha... I was good and waited till I found a half dominion set for a decent price though!

Next up for my on going Slaanesh project is the terrain piece; The Fane of Slaanesh...
I've never been a fan of the silly daemon face thing that usually sits in the middle of the ring so I clipped it out and smoothed down the damage to make it look deactivated. Whilst it now doesn't block line of sight anymore its far more aesthetically pleasing haha.

Really looking forward to the new AoS rules as i think they are a massive boost to Slaanesh!

He's such a cool model, and is the main reason I decided to start an army of Slaanesh in the first place haha.
Hopefully by the time I have 2000pts done they will have had some much needed drops in the next GHB!
With these last three models I've completed my Maggottkin of Nurgle army!
In the last 17 months i have painted 184 models for the force, 5830pts of Rotbringers/Daemons/StD/Pestilens, and now calling them complete until AoS3 is released or a new Battletome comes out.

Another week gone but its been a productive one, I've painted up another 20 of my Plaguebearers backlog ready for some table time!

Now that they are done they have come up quite well but im in no rush to add another unit... ten more daemonettes will take half the time to build and paint haha, and cost a lot less too!
