Glad they are all done, i did enjoy this project but the game isn't for me sadly.

Horus Heresy: Lernaean Terminators

 Blast from the past! I've sold my Alpha Legion army to a friend but i need to finish off the last few bits for him before passing the army on. Here's the squad of Lernaean Terminators finished:

I've got Alpharius, Armilius Dynat, a Praetor and Exodus to complete next!

Horus Heresy; Landraider Spartan!

After what seems like an age I'm back painting! And finally got the Spartan from the Age of Darkness box painted up:

The big lad sits proudly on the shelf waiting on its Primarch and his retinue to board haha

Horus Heresy: Exodus

Painted whilst building up the next Warcaster models! I'd seen a few Exodus conversions based off the praetors from the box and this is my version:

Primaris Eliminator parts scale well with the silly larger praetor models, and the addition of a greenstuff cloak to replace the rather elaborate one from the stock model hehe.

Horus Heresy: Cataphractii Terminator Squad

Closing in on the end of the Age of Darkness box now, here are the Cataphractii Terminators completed:

I went with mostly lightning claws to go murdering other marines with but added a pair of chainfists to give them some extra punch into heavier vehicles if needed.

The plan is for my Praetor to accompany this squad in a Spartan for 2000-2500pt games and then switch out for Alpharius in larger clashes!

Horus Heresy: Heavy Support Squad

Finished off some long range punch for my army with this Heavy Support Squad:

Really pleased how these guys turned out, and also how the force is coming together now. I had the twin fails of running out of primer and no post today so have build ten terminators rather than my Exodus conversion haha.

Horus Heresy: Second Headhunter Kill Team

Finished these guys last night but needed the inks to dry before basing!

That's both my Kill Teams finished so its on to the Heavy Support Squad next, and when some bits from ebay arrive the hated sword praetor can become Exodus!

Horus Heresy: Headhunter Kill Team

Finished up my first Headhunter Kill Team today:

I used a squad of the beakies from the big box (Got another team on the go!) with some Kromlech parts to give them different bolters and a multi melta for that sweet infiltrating justice haha.

I'm really enjoying painting these Alpha legion models up, they all look rather striking on my display shelf... I think i have around 1100pts painted up so far!  

Horus Heresy: Alpha Legion Contemptor Dreadnought

 Completed my Contemptor from the box today:

I went with a fairly standard build of Autocannons and Havoc Launcher, but added a Plasma Blaster to the fist for a bit of cheeky marine killing power hehe.

Horus Heresy: Praetor completed

 A quick conversion on the axe guy the HH box and a far more suitable model emerged!

 

I cut off the axe blade, added a sword blade to make a spear then binned the cloak and greenstuff repaired the left shoulder pad... sorted!

Horus Heresy: Second Tactical Squad

With the Pike and Shotte finished off i can now hit the Alpha Legion for a while to try and get a playable force ASAP! Here's my second Tactical Squad ready for action:

Next up will be a Praetor and the Contemptor for a bit of variety i think!

Horus Heresy: Alpha Legion Tactical Squad

 First of the big box models to be worked on are these tactical marines:

I much prefer how the blue/green looks on these than the MK3s i painted earlier, I only did one coat of the contrast on these so will continue like that for the rest.

Horus Heresy: Alpha Legion Veteran Tactical Squad

So the new addition of the Horus Heresy is upon us and the club has decided to get back into it in a big way! I sold my Mechanicum many years ago so it was time to pick a legion and get painting... i went through the list that the other guys already had or had planned to start and settled on the blue/turquoise of the Alpha Legion!

First up is this Veteran Tactical Squad in MK3 armour, bought initially to test out schemes etc., but i has happy with my tester so finished off the rest of the squad.

I have the big box on order along with a Praetor from forgeworld as i detest those plastic ones that come in the box, a dice set and the transfers so will get these finished up when they arrive.

Horus Heresy: Leman Russ and Spartan Tank

These two bring this commission to a close for now:

Russ was hard to get to focus so its a rare hand shot from me haha, my client will be adding weathering and snow to them both in time so the tank especially was requested to remain unadorned as it were.

Horus Heresy: Space Wolves Commission

And im back!

These last 10 days have been some of the most hectic in my life, i have either been working, painting or sleeping haha. There i was having just finished the Haramborg minis and preparing my Behemoths when i was contacted with an emergency... A new client, who through one thing or another, had not got any paint on his Heresy army and needed about 3000pts doing for the start of August!

We hammered out a scheme that would be quick enough with the time frame and also one that he could easily replicate to work on bits of his own... I'm quick, but with work and family life i didn't feel i could paint quite that much in the time available.

So here is the first update on the project, i've worked on these on and off since last friday and these are the first thirty marines completed:

A couple of days off painting grey till the next chance i have to meet up on Tuesday when i pick up Leman Russ, a Dreadnought and either a Spartan or ten more Marines.

April starts with a bang!

After a particularly savage week at work i was able to get back on the painting yesterday and completed all of these:

Mechanicum Thanatar

Yep a proper mixed bag! Sinestro is part of my Injustice League team for the DC Universe game, and i have a Harley Quinn model to finish off today to go with it. The Thanatar is the latest addition to my 30K Mechanicum army, much quicker to paint than the two squads of infantry i still have to do!

The Empire Flagellants are the first part of some reinforcements to the the Warmaster Empire army commission i have painted for my existing client.

Hopefully next week will be a tad easier so i can get so more done in the week!

Horus Heresy: Mechanicum at 2500pts

I've finished off my final 6 Thallax, a mated supplied me with some plasma guns to convert them into special weapons so i can kit out three squads with a bit more firepower:

Also, it appears i never photoed these two Castellax that i painted a couple of weeks ago too haha. These are one squad and both equipped with Darkfire Cannons for the win:

Below is an army shot of my whole force so far painted. In addition to this i have Belsarius Cawl to represent Anarcharis Scoria and 20 Skitarii on route to build as the new 30k Secutarii with Forgeworld's add on kits:

I have another 6 Thallax to build, Belisarus Cawl to turn into Archmagos Anarcharis Scoria and am waiting on 20 40k Skitarii to put the new upgrade kits on to turn into Secutarii!

Just a quickie today, the second half of the Thallax unit i posted last entry is complete:

I have six more of these to do but the last lot will be special weapon troopers and i need to convert the guns a little. A mate at the club is sorting me out with some plasma weapons for the job :-D

Best way to describe Tech Thralls is as tough crap guardsmen... yeah they are hardcore lethal hahaha! They do provide numbers and, objective campers and cheap road blocks to screen my more valuable robots from enemy assault units.
