Age of Sigmar and Mordheim: Royal Beastflayers

The club is starting up a Mordheim campaign in the new year and i wanted to use Undead.. In our last one maybe 15 years ago i also ran them and they are a lot of fun!

I picked up a box of the AoS / Warcry Royal Beastflayers from the Flesheater Courts range as i like the models and may have also bought a box or two of the new army box haha

Busting them out tonight for a full game, hopefully they smash face!

I have been saving this one to motivate me to paint up all the ghouls and horrors I needed first hehe

Not a mega fan of the model but I think its come up well though!

Archregents are solid, and are basically free as they can summon up to 200pts of stuff haha!

Im sticking with just the one in my force as its pretty gamey rocking more than that, and i have other different heroes to run to gain access to the other great spells on the warscrolls.

After what seems an age i am back on painting up my Flesheaters!!!

The hero version of a Crypt Flayer, if im honest im probably not going to use this very often as i dont want to go mad with Flayers, but its nice to still have as an option.

Two important units for me as these Crypt Ghouls give me my 3rd Battleline unit and the 2nd Varghulf now allows me to field one in the force to begin with and summon another in via an Archregent or Kings command ability!

Back after another savage week of site work, i painted a coat or two on this each night before crashing out haha:

This beastie will be the general of my Court; natural toughness combined with the Majestic Horror command trait for a double summon of Courtier models is gravy!

I picked up a savage orc big boss to turn into a Ghoul King on foot, a head and blade swap with the vampire lord from the Zombie Dragon kit and a bit of greenstuff to create a new neck!

Yeah im crap at sticking to my plans haha, i've sold and traded in a few bits so have decided to have another go at a Flesheater Courts army, starting with this unit of Crypt Horrors:

Quite a different scheme from my last go, these are based off how i painted those Blackstone Fortress Ur Ghul last year. I was a big fan of the scheme and was looking for another project to do using it and these were a natural fit.

I'm basing my force around the contents of three start collecting boxes for speed and cost, but you can make a surprisingly effective army out of them:

1 Abhorrant Ghoul King on Zombie Dragon w/Majestic Horror trait 440pts

1 Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist w/The Grim Garland artifact 400pts

To this i will then add a pool of models to summon in using the Ghoul Kings command abilities:

This can potentially put another 620pts worth of models into play hehe

This has been my worst week for work in a very long time, and its not going to get better till near the end of February! I think it will be one post, maybe two, per week at best till then d'oh!

These three finish up my Crypt Flayers unit, but having seen the Daughters of Khaine previews and the fact that the leaked Death Warscolls show the Necromancer no longer working effectively with the Flesheaters i will be shelving this project and selling it on.

Greetings from the Warp, a 40k/30K/AoS tourney and events group whose events i play at, have started to run a Tale of Gamers with a two day event in late june or early july to fight it out with our new forces hehe.

I will be using the Flesheater Courts for this and above are half of my Crypt Flayer unit that forms the my January painting pledge!
